I think I have told you all before that I have AMAZING blog friends. Well if I haven’t….I have AMAZING blog friends. Among these beautiful and amazing friends is Brandi Evans of the delicious blog BranAppetit.

Brandi...isn't she just the cutest?! I love this girl!!

Well, we are ALL in for a treat today!!  She is sharing THIS AH MAY ZING, delicious and easy recipe with you lucky readers today. She’s just so awesome. I big fat puffy heart her.

Hi guys! I’m Brandi from BranAppetit (www.branappetit.com), and I’m so happy to be posting here!

Can I tell you something about Carrie? She is just as fabulous in person as you would expect. I met Carrie at BlogHer Food in Atlanta last year, and we totally hit it off. She is so sweet and funny and we had a blast walking around the city and staying up way too late chatting.

I knew there was no way I could give you guys a baked good recipe on here. My desserts are kindergarten noodle art compared to Carrie’s treats.  So I’m sticking with one of my favorite easy desserts: a chocolate bark.

We did all homemade gifts this year for Christmas, and I ended up giving out some White Chocolate Gingerbread Bark (http://www.branappetit.com/2011/11/22/gingersnap-bark/). But I made one bark at home that never made into those gift baskets because my husband and I ate it all instead.

The best things about making chocolate bark?

  1. They take almost no time at all.
  2. They’re super easy to do.
  3. You can add whatever you want!

This mix uses semi-sweet and white chocolate, plus some vanilla and dried cherries.

Got 5 minutes? Then you’ve got dessert.

Double Chocolate and Dried Cherry Bark

Makes: About 2-3 cups pieces

Ingredients:

  • 8 oz. semi-sweet chocolate
  • 8 oz. white chocolate
  • 1 cup dried tart cherries
  • ½ tsp vanilla bean paste

Directions:

  1. In a medium bowl, heat the semi-sweet chocolate in the microwave for 2 minutes, stopping to stir after every 30 seconds, until the chocolate is smooth.
  2. In a second bowl, do the same with the white chocolate.
  3. Stir ½ cup of the dried cherries into each bowl. Add the vanilla bean paste to the white chocolate bowl and stir together.
  4. Dollop the chocolate mixtures, alternating the white with the semi-sweet, onto some parchment paper. Swirl the edges of the chocolate dollops together and let the chocolate sit until it has hardened.
  5. Break apart into bite size pieces – serve!

So there you have it my sweet readers!  YUM right?!

Be good. But not too good.  That’s boring ;)

    • vanilla paste is a delicious mass of vanilla beans without the pod…I am sure you could sub in vanilla beans or even a smidge of vanilla extract.
